Only hearing the first 3min of the book I thought it sounded interesting and disappointingly I used my credit to get this. I am all about spice and hot sex in a book but this has massive rapey, cringy and controlling sex scenarios with zero interesting storyline. I can’t finish the first book let alone start the second. Big thumbs down

cringey and rapey? initially i thought exclicit BDSM disguised as a novel BUT read on ... its actually touching on neccesary nature, how personal experience shapes action and how those action are viewed by outsiders. in the end it is travail ending in love ... thats romance isn't it. made me think , i was engaged, i enjoyed it overall. admitedly its not tor everyone.. there could be spin offs for the other two main characters.

This one is definitely dark! It's a hard listen if you typically enjoy the fluffy stuff but I seem to have a "dark" fascination with it. I have re listened to it several times, though after my first listen through I can't bear to listen to the "black moment" and I always skip over it. This story is easy to get absorbed in. The characters and storyline are captivating. It has a high level of adult content. Look up the triggers and prepare yourself. If you can handle all that, I do recommend this one. There is just something about it that pulls you in

It’s bad, just bad. The characters have no redeeming qualities. The whole start you have no clue what going on and only gets worse from there. The only reason I got this book was because it was a VIP credit, I’m so glad I didn’t pay for this.

I didn’t really know what I was getting into.. this was dark and dubious and vile. And beautiful. Check the triggers and tropes for sure. But if you like CNC, dubious consent, forced proximity and maybe have some religious trauma.. this might be for you

I did not like the initial meeting between the fmc and the mic because of the sa but I did enjoy the story, especially the world building.

If you like alot of spice this is a book for you. I enjoyed it , but a little to much spice for me. Narrators did a good job

Ah… wish I read the reviews before wasting my credit on this…. I’m not against dark romance and smut and sexy scenes, far from that it’s my favorite genre to read. But, this was not it. It’s just poorly written especially the beginning. Way too fast fairly any description on things and plot.

Some Intense scenes but a good read.

the plot was really cool. loved the world that the author created. however, the incessant rape was unsettling and unnecessary. the fmc would have just a easily fallen for the mmc without being raped repeatedly.

I've been wanting to listen to this for a long time. it didn't disappoint. I only wished it was narrated in duet.

Very good listen. I wasn't sure how I was going to like this duet but I found myself wanting to continue listening as much as possible. If gorrie and not for the faint of heart, but a fantastic dark romance.
