Summary
THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

“Told in rotating points of view, this Tilt-A-Whirl of a novel brims with jangly tension – an undeniably engrossing guessing game.”  — Vogue

'[A] clever, cliff-hanger-filled thriller.' — People

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Guest List comes a new locked room mystery, set in a Paris apartment building in which every resident has something to hide…

Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he’s not there.

The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother’s situation, and the more questions she has. Ben’s neighbors are an eclectic bunch, and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it’s starting to look like it’s Ben’s future that’s in question.

The socialite – The nice guy – The alcoholic – The girl on the verge – The concierge

Everyone's a neighbor. Everyone's a suspect. And everyone knows something they’re not telling.

I couldn't get more than a quarter through it, realized that I hate books that constantly change from character to character; it's a cheap and superficial way to write and I won't fall for it again.

Accents in the narration were a little annoying at times. Not my favorite Lucy Foley book but overall okay.

This was a page turner. The author did a good job transitioning smoothly from character to character. I enjoyed the narrators. The accents were convincing… not overdone. Each character had a fully developed identity. The plot continued to thicken with each chapter, which kept me invested.

This book is disjointed. To many characters with different accents, difficult to follow the numerous story lines. Would not recommend.

The numerous twists and turns were pretty distracting from the story. It also felt as though there could have been a more thorough plot line edit; it felt a little drawn out.

Thus book was full of so many twists and turns that I never saw coming. It kept me on my toes and I kept wanting to know more. I love the narrators, every one of them did everybody's accents so well and it was awesome!

What money can't hide! Jess is the sister who can't seem to get her life on track. She sets off to Paris to look for her brother, upon arrival things are super strange. She knows his apartment but the tenants there act like they don't know him or that he never lived there. Until one person slips up. The Super rich family is hiding more than her brothers disappearance. There's adultery, traffucking, and money involved. Jess uncovers it all and finds her brother even after threats and being scared for her life. What's the saying "everything that looks good, ain't good for you", this book encompasses it all. #Book17of2022 #Bookworm #Whatsnext

Did not like this book. Started skipping chapters just to get through it.

Can be a bit heavy on the description at time (especially if you’re stuck in a car with nothing else to do) - the narrations are great and help separate the characters. The whole thing felt like a long lead up to a very rushed and rather “meh” ending. Engaging? Yes. A favorite? No.
