Summary
This recording has been digitally produced by DeepZen Limited, using a synthesized version of an audiobook narrator’s voice under license. DeepZen uses Emotive Speech Technology to create digital narrations that offer a similar listening experience to human narration. From the #1 Bestselling author of Death By Honeymoon, comes a new romance series....

Nestled among trees and hills, set alongside a winding river, the small town of Tom’s River, Wisconsin, so beautiful and protected, is a place where everybody knows each other, a place where nothing ever changes and where people can feel safe. But one day, all that changes. Megan’s husband has gone missing, and no one can find him.

As the search deepens, Megan discovers the truth not only about her husband, but also about the secrets he’s been hiding in their marriage. Her world is shook as she realizes she’s been living a lie, has been in a relationship with a man who’s been living a secret life, a man she never really knew.

Some months after his disappearance, as the snows of winter melt, Hunter, a handsome, magnetic stranger, arrives in Tom’s River. A loner with a mysterious past, he is content with his solitary job at the lumber yard. But as a tornado ravages the town, he is destined to cross paths with Megan, as she seeks help to repair her damaged home.

Once Hunter and Megan meet, nothing is ever the same again. As he repairs the roof that blew off her home, the two cannot hold back their feelings for each other. They fall madly in love. Yet Megan cannot, once again, live with a man who is keeping secrets from her: she needs Hunter to open up about who he is, about what he’s running from. And that is not something Hunter may be ready to do.

As they face a crucial crossroads in their affair, a shocking and dramatic twist hits the town: one that will test their love, and will test the town. Nothing will be the same in Tom’s River again.

Synthesised voice did nothing for it and the story was amateur hour. The ending was abrupt and bland.

Story sounded nice but I honestly could listen anymore. The reading was so bad I couldn’t finish the story. I stopped at chapter 7

Terrible narration!

The narration is hard to listen to. Weird story line. Not much romance for being categorized as a romance book.

Well I enjoyed the story once I could get pass the terrible narration. I have never tried. So hard to listen and replace the voice with my own voice until this audiobook. Once I forced myself to get over the voice and focused on the story it was fine. I also thought too much time was spent on the husband's disappearance and not the love story until I realized it was a part of a series. Now I want to read book 2 but I'm nervous that the narrator will be the same.

very good story

The story line was good enough, kept me interested. However, the synthesized voice ruined it for me. Why couldn't a real person or the author read it?? Please do away with synthesized reading.

I’m sure this is a decent book but I cannot get past the horrendous narration. Doesn’t do it justice.

If I could give zero I would. Terrible narrator which left all the characters flat. Story went on forever with an unreal ending.

I enjoyed the story

The writing wasn't very good in my opinion, but I still would have listened to try to get my money's worth except that the narrator was so horrible that I just couldn't stand it.

Profile Avatar Nicole W. Jul 2022

The story line was ok. I just felt that there was more to the story, but it just stopped and felt unfinished. For the narration. Synthesized voice?..Next time just say no. It was really hard for me to listen to and finish book.

Horrible Narrating I could keep listening . Never finished book

Profile Avatar Anonymous May 2022

The story is good, but the computer narration is terrible and full of mispronounced words.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Apr 2022

The story would be great but for that woman reading it is so monotone.
