Unabridged Audiobook
I am one of those guys who was never entertained by reading about other peoples ideas of romance, romantic episodes or literature on the subject. But, I had a friend recommend this book that was indeed just that; a romantic suspense novel with a nautical theme. I opened it up and began to read...with trepidation; I must admit. But as I went on with the story...my steely resolve began to melt away. A few pages in and I stopped to observe a unique feeling...interest in this story about romance. It turns out that there was indeed romance involved, but there was a lot more going on than just that. I now found myself intrigued about where this tale was going...and it was going there pretty fast. Mystery, intrigue, detailed descriptions of a cruise ship's inner workings and, yes romance. Mr. Richardson had me hooked. He has a very deep sense of how to paint a word picture of the mental gymnastics of his characters. I am sure that the book is well founded on his experience as a licensed maritime officer. And he does an outstanding job of relating that experience to this story. And that was evident in the details of voyages on the ocean liner that was much of the stage setting in this epic novel of nautical fantasy, love, romance and suspense. Suspense, again me the cautious reader, I found it suprisingly drawing me further into the story line. I was really involved with the characters and what was to come next! Suffice it to say, my closed mind on this topic of literature was opened up with a realization of what I might be missing. I can highly recommend this book and the author. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in his series about to be released. Kudo's Larry!
Do you love a good romantic mystery onboard a sailing ship from long ago? You've got to read Perilous Pacific Passage by Larry W. Richardson! I got caught up in the beautiful writings describing the islands and flowers, now I want to ride the Andalusian horses through the mystical forests to see the sacred temple. Don't know what I'm talking about? Read this book and be transported with Chip Carlson and Anna Maria Gordon as the attraction grows. But watch out for the mystery lurking at each port or around the corner on the ship.
