WHAT?!?!? What a cliff hanger. Total slow burn and so worth it. Wasn't sure about the book in the beginning But wow! I am so glad that I got to hear that book. Looking for the second.

Loved the first book and the narrator!

Had to really really listen to know what was happening g was kinda hard to follow in this first book. But overall really enjoyed the series.

Well written and engaging story. I was eager to get as much free time as possible to listen to the book. Disappointed it is now finished. would definitely find the hard copy and buy it and recommend it to my friends.

A plot that doesn't give too much away but leaves you committed to following Suris journey, as confused as she is, but totally enthralled to what may be coming next.

You can't tell this is a self-published book. I looked up the author partway through and realized I'd been following her on tiktok for several years. She's invested thousands of dollars into this series and it shows. I'm very picky with fantasy but this one checked all my boxes. The main character is bad *ss, not because she's so hot and wears lingerie and is the Chosen One, but because she has always had to fight for survival. The world felt fully developed and the descriptions let me picture everything perfectly. The magic was unique enough to be interesting but not so much that I didn't know what was going on. I will definitely be picking up the next book.

Easy fantasy plot to follow and certainly a slow burn, as there’s not much happening in the romance department yet. I think it’s being set up really well. Narrator was good. She made the FMCs voice sound little scraggly, but nothing to turn me away
