The actual story was well written, but interspersed with tedious philosophical ramblings and historical "proofs" that almost had me giving up listening because I found it so boring.But I'm no literary boff, so make up your own mind... there has to be reasons why the book won prizes. I'm too plebian to know what those are.

Fun, innovative and intetesting, but the fusnote about Victoria was boring, as well as Bella's little dictionary.

Gorgeous writing and imaginative story with an argument at its core. Excellent narration.

it is a long listen. I must admit it took me a few hours to actually get a bit invested in the story. it actually took perseverance to listen to all of it. I had almost given up but the letters 'sent home' by Bella helped to get me a bit curious about the rest of the story.Funny enough, what irritated me about the tekst is what irritated Victoria Mccandels in her afterword sonit must be deliberate.It is just not my kind of book but I can see that it is a bit clever and the writing is melodious.I didn't find anything remarkable or exceptionally pleasing of the make narrator, I prefers the female narrator but both dit an excellent job.

I love strange and this had plenty of it. Beautiful, poetic language throughout. Looking forward to seeing the movie. Both narrators were exceptional.

I loved this, a little odd, very interwoven, kept me hooked the entire book. Great research.
