Yet again Maddow knocks it out of the ballpark. Everything about her is marked with excellence. One of the great thinkers, writers, speakers and influential people of this generation. I couldn’t love her entire body of work more if I tried. Bravo Rachel!!!!

Great work. Rachel delivers much needed history of fascism and how it creeps into American life to tear down democracy and freedom. This is a book that all should read and study especially in our unstable present American society. Rachel reads her book with much clarity and vitality. It is quite obvious she has done much historical study prior to her writings.
The book is outstanding and it serves as a reminder that "those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it." It is so important in this current political cycle that this book is read by all Americans.
I love the way Rachel approaches her subjects. She always finds the parts of history that are less emphasize, but that are thoroughly important. Great book.

This is an extension of Rachel's podcast, Ultra. It's a very good history lesson. It essentially maps out what this country went through in the late 30s and early 40s, which is very similar to what we are going through now: a push toward fascism. It's a history lesson forgotten or never told in classrooms. However, it's a lesson that needs to be told and retold.
Impressive research. Maddow voice adds so much. Cadence and expression in narration is superb. So much to think about in these extraordinary times.
As usual, Rachel has done a lot of research. It’s chilling to learn how close we came to being dominated by Facism.
Well written and researched as you would expect from Rachel Maddow, and I could listen to her voice for days. It was a little dry at times, not to be unexpected, given the topic, but it was definitely informative. I was expecting more of her classic connect-the-dots-to-current-times move at the end, but you get there if you read between the lines.
As always, thorough research with unfortunate connection to today's reality.
Ms. Maddow is a gem! Looking forward to her next book.
