Unabridged Audiobook
When selecting this book I was hoping to get some sort of an insight into an NDE. However the author of the book seem to be more interested in validating he's NDE as an authentic experience as well as describing the experience of the people around him at the time. And while he claims to have seen and learned a lot during he's experience it seems that the only message he's passing on is the same old message of "you are loved". I was somewhat disappointed.
Another amazing book, Men, please read this (listen)
This was a very interesting, inspirational, and thought provoking account. I very much believe in the presence of Heaven, so for me, this was a further testimony of it's existence.
Such excruciating details on the authors experience, intelligence, training, importance and success, but extremely sparse on the heavenly experience. 4 hours of all about me, me, me and 1 hour about heaven. The Audiobooks restrictive format and presentation keeps one lost and muddles the message by the Chapters not being in coordination with the unrelated actual way the story is presented. One is unable to skip the obvious self-centered blather to get the the gist of the book, which is very interesting, but ........ less much detail than the boring parts Didn't need an editor or to smart to listen to an editor?
I am a person of faith and listen to segments of this book often. Overall, it is enlightening, big time
Enjoyed all the medical lingo due to being in the medical field myself...but after my husband passing recently, the medical lingo was not comforting! Disappointed at the lack of description of the trip!
The story of him surviving his illness is amazing in itself. His outer body experience is something I have always believed in. I have witnessed two family members pass, seeing some unexplainable things during those times. Later seeing them in meditations or while dreaming. This book was comforting to me, letting me know that my loved ones who have passed are somewhere out there!
This book was very believable and I found myself eager to hear what Eban was going to say next. It had a lot of medical terminology, but what do you expect from a brain surgeon.
What a fantastic book. So profound and enlightening!
Reading these events from the mind of a skeptical doctor made this a journey of discovery tempered by the struggle to explain. His experience and conclusions will expand your view on the topic of NDE no matter your current belief.
New age stuff to me. I don't need science to confirm or affirm that there is God and an after life; it's called faith.
