I really liked the book but when the narrator portrays Dan Pardee he practically SCREAMS..also sometimes in the narration.so irritating i love how the lives intertwine awesome!!

I have only recently discovered J A Jance, and have found that her mysteries are well-crafted. The author does not have to rely on gratuitous sex or violence. This is the only "Walker Family" story I have read, consider it to be very much a standalone book. She does a good job of including Native American culture and weaves a number of seemingly unrelated persons and stories together. These books make for a very nice listening experience.
