Unabridged Audiobook
Loved that this was a true story. It kept me on edge but was never devastating like some WW2 books.
This was one of the best books I have listened to. I am a fan of Historical Fiction, and I found this story very interesting and inspiring. It showed how one person of courage could make a difference in the lives of an entire village, while providing insight into the lives of the common people of Germany during WWII. The Narrator did a great job giving the characters individual voices and it really made it easy to distinguish them.
I enjoyed the book. It brought up what the average person when thru and what they did to survive. Our current political system could lead us down the same path if we don't stand up for democracy. I would definitely recommend it to friends, family and book clubs.
This was a great book. It was engaging and well-written. I definitely recommend the book. I gave the narrator only 3 stars because he started using inconsistent Irish accents for the dialogue of German characters. It was an odd choice. I would prefer no accent instead of inconsistent and inaccurate accents that change throughout the book. The narrator took me out of the story due to his weird choices. But the story was great!
