A troubled detective confronts her past in the aftermath of a brutal shooting.

After thirteen years in prison, a good cop walks free as deep in the forest, on the altar of an abandoned church, a body cools in pale linen…

This is a town on the brink.

This book kept me listening until I had to stop. I could not wait to get back and find out what happens next. You just can't figure out who did all these terrible things and why.

Well written and narrated but story was too dark for my taste. Did not finish the book,

I never bought into the premise. I tried and tried but it was unbelievable. Other than that, the writing was suspenseful. Unfortunately, the narrator's female voices were awful. He sounded like he was mocking the female speaking more than narrating. The spoken voice of the main character did not match her persona. The recording missed a couple pages of the book making it confusing. I ended up buying the book to straighten it out.
