Reluctant Space Commander: From Death Wish to Galactic Hero! (Light Novel) Vol. 1

Dying Heroically Shouldn't Be This Hard!

When heartbreak drives Nao to enlist in the Space Force, he discovers a new purpose in life: stylishly sacrificing himself for the greater good. Unfortunately, standing in his way are his capable crew—and his own skills!

Every hopeless battle somehow turns to triumph in his hands. His ship is surrounded? He selflessly orders his crew to abandon him, but they rally instead, wiping out the enemy. A pirate ship is escaping? He ruthlessly crashes himself into it, but its engine fails, enabling its capture. Why can't a guy just catch a break and go down in a blaze of glory?!

His skyrocketing reputation lands him a swift promotion and the attention of the princess herself, but will Nao get the one thing he truly desires—the sweet release of a heroic death?
