'Rich and lucky, Lydia! That's what you're destined to be, rich and lucky!'

There was a bright gleam in Hiram Haydensfield's eyes. Lydia Baker knew that look in her husband's eyes, all too well.

'Oh Hiram! Here you go, again! I know what you're going to say.'

Lydia wanted to interrupt Hiram, and cut him off, but Hiram would not have any of it. She knew that he would not let her, but she had to try. She had heard him rattle off his dreams over and over again, and by now, she knew what was coming.

'We're going to get rich, you and me. You'll be the luckiest woman in America, for letting me be your husband.'

Lydia held Hiram's hand tighter than she already did. 'Oh Hiram! You already know that I'm the luckiest woman already. Just being together with you, is all I can ask for.'
