Unabridged Audiobook
This was a very enjoyable quick listen, I received an ALC from BNA and their pick for the narrators was perfect for these two characters. I am very excited to meet the rest of the brothers eventually. This was a great story, involving a family business and billionaires. Was a cute story with the typical turmoil, and a HEA.
Fantastic Story & Narration! Riveting & Steamy! - Martina Dale is a ‘new-to-me’ author and consider me impressed, not only by her wonderful writing style, but by the fabulous story she created, a story that grabbed my attention right from the start and held it the entire time. The well-developed characters are realistic and easy to relate to and connect with. “The Ride”, the first book of the “Blackmoore Brothers” series, and is Braxton’s and Grace’s story. Braxton is a workaholic looking to take over the family business when his parents retire. He is also a player, not having time or wanting a romantic relationship and is upfront with the woman he picks up, some who are only interested in his status as a billionaire. Braxton can be short with some of his employees, so his parents want him to take a starting position in one of the company’s theme parks and familiarize himself with the employees on running the park and the rides. Grace Summers left her fiancé at the altar after hearing he cheated on her, since she worked with him she also needed to find another job and applied for one in NYC. In an unusual twist, the company asks for her to visit one of their theme parks and come up with a marketing plan to present for her final, face-to-face interview. Her time in the Chicago theme park was enlightening, and she gathered enough information for her presentation. She also met someone, Bradley, one of the park’s employees, spent some time with him that lead to a steamy affair, one she could not go any further since she was leaving, despite their instant connection. Her interview goes well, sets a start date in three weeks so she can get things squared away back in the UK and settle into a new apartment in NY. Her first day at Blackmoore Enterprise is more than a learning experience, especially after she thinks she sees Bradley, but he is nothing like the Bradley she spent time with in Chicago. There is never a dull moment in this book and I loved all the layers of the story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, some angst, witty dialogue and humor, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Martina Dale, thanks for this fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride. - And for the fabulous narration, Allie Rose and Joe Arden were fantastic at bringing the characters to life, humanizing them with voices that are fitting to deliver a perfect portrayal of each, while owning their roles. Joe Arden nailed it as Braxton, grasping every aspect of his personality from his arrogant, hot tempered bossy side to his caring and fun side as Bradley. Allie Rose was a natural in Grace’s role and was just as fabulous, showcasing Grace’s personality, including her fierceness, strength and determination. She has an impressive ability to switch accents and handling the back-and-forth banter, going from a British accent to an American accent seamlessly and with ease. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These wonderfully talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.
