Summary
When your infuriating new boss turns out to be your hot new neighbor . . .

Prim and proper Oakley Waldo seemed just fine riding solo at work and in her personal life. But when I walk in on her and discover we're neighbors, she'll have to work double time to keep the tension between us at a low simmer.

My mission? To bring out the wild woman I know is hiding underneath that tightly wound bun and perfectly unruffled uniform. Only problem is, she seems dead set on discovering the past I vowed to keep hidden away.

With stolen moments of heated passion in between calls, creative uses for those handcuffs, and four meddling sisters who won't butt out of Oakley's life, our rocky partnership is set to explode!

Ridin' Solo was a fun stand alone start to a spin off series set in Auburn Hell. You don't have to read the Jobs from Hell series to enjoy this one, though some of the original characters do make appearances. Oakley is the sister of Amelia from Unfriend Me. I loved the title of Ridin' Solo and thought it was meaningful in a couple different ways. At times this book seemed a little racier than Marika Ray's previous books, but it was also really funny. I would recommend it to rom com and contemporary romance fans who like some heat in the stories. It is not a cliffhanger, though I am anxiously awaiting the release of the next book in the series to see what happens with Oakley's other sisters. Update - Now all the Waldo sisters have a book and I was able to listen to the Ridin’ Solo audiobook. Both narrators were new to me. Julian Durant’s chapters were delivered with the inflection of a someone telling a story, which I appreciate. Pippa Jayne’s varied more between reading and dialogue, and seemed more natural at a faster pace (consistent with the sample).

Plenty of small town charm, quirky characters, pesky seagulls, laugh out loud humor and heart melting romance are to be had in Oakley and Wyatt's story. I liked these two a lot. Neither one was perfect and they each had some baggage that really shaped who they were and how their romance progressed. I could totally feel for both of them and yet, still feel some frustration with each of them over the mistakes I felt they were making. LOL If you like reads that are sassy, cute, swoon worthy, steamy and just plain fun you need to grab this one quick! The narrators each gave wonderful performances and I thought they fit the characters very well.
