Summary
Candace Andrews has had enough of pleasing others. In an act of birthday rebellion, she sets out to please herself-by walking into the tattoo parlor owned by her cousin's ex-boyfriend. All she wants is a little ink, and Brian's just the guy to give it to her.

As soon as she submits to his masterful hands, though, the forbidden attraction she's always felt for him resurfaces . . . and she realizes the devilishly sexy artist could give her so much more.

Sweet, innocent Candace is the last person Brian expected to see again. She's everything he's not, and her family despises him. He doesn't need the hassle, but he needs her, and this time no one is taking her away. Not even those who threaten to make his life a living hell.

Backed into a corner, Candace faces the worst kind of choice. Cave in to those who think Brian is a living nightmare . . . or hold her ground and risk it all for the one man who rocks her world.

I really liked this story. I think it was much better than the first book Unleased. The story follows Brian and Candace. Brian is the brother of Evan (from the previous book), and Candace is the cousin of Brian’s ex. Candace is a good girl who does everything her family expects of her and she is a virgin. She has always had a crush on Brian but would never say anything before because he was dating her cousin. When they break up and Candace and Brian no longer get to see each other and hang out, Candace takes matters into her own hands, sort of. Brian is a tattoo artist who’s family does not approve of his tattoos and piercings. He always has to cover up when he visits them. When he sees Candace again he realizes there’s something there and he also makes a move. One problem… Candace’s parents are also extremely conservative and would not approve of Brian because of past mistakes when he was younger and because he broke up with her cousin. This is a kind of friends to lovers romance but in way it’s also a slight coming of age. Really great read. I’m glad I finally gave this one a chance.

The story itself was ok- prim and proper, privileged main character. Wild, black sheep love interest. It's way more explicit than I expected but I've listened to it twice now. My biggest hang up is the narrator. Her male voices are THEE WORST!!! She makes them sound challenged and gives them an awful accent for some reason. I'd much rather her just use her normal voice than this weird side talk she does- it took me almost 3/4s of the story to be able to at least tolerate it.
