Levy is an excellent writer with an intelligent vocabulary. While I did enjoy the book I could not relate my own personal life to that of the author and kept losing interest as her life was/is nothing like the lives of my friends or myself. And no, I'm not homophobic and certainly not anti-alcohol, just saying it didn't hold my interest, and part of the description of the book ""built an unconventional life" doesn't really give any insight about what you will encounter in the book.
I normally do not appreciate trips through someone's life, especially when stupid choices land them where we could predict. But this short memoir is funny and interesting and has real people who we all know in our own lives. Levy narrating this was the right person too.
