Unabridged Audiobook
This book is a sweet contemporary closed door rom-com with a dash of faith based, Jane Austen elements that bring a certain charm to this book making it a very enjoyable reads. The book follows Zoe narrated by Emma Faye and her best friends brother Harrison narrated by Kyle Tait, who through their own life challenges seek to overcome their own emotional battles by leaning on their faith and in return find themselves building a closer relationship with one another eventually realizing they were always meant to be together. I liked how the author combined the regency inspired romance with a modern twist of rom-com, and truly enjoyed her creating an honest MMC with integrity who’s morally driven. We don’t often get these types of MMC which was a breath of fresh air for me. His love for Zoe was pure and honest and oh so sweet. Zoe a sweet FMC whose character a lot of us possibly can relate with, recently diagnosed with diabetes after losing a parent struggles with her faith and being single at 29. She envisions herself being married by 30 but her expectations seem to be too high and begins to lean on her faith for clarity. The author did a beautiful job highlighting the message of trusting Gods timings throughout the book. She didn’t over exert the characters faith but made it a point to the readers that both characters did lean on their beliefs for guidance and trusted God with each situation they encounter. Overall this book is very enjoyable. It made me smile, laugh and touched my heart with its lighthearted message. Thank you to Tantor Audio and the author for the advance listeners copy and the opportunity to provide my honest review.
