Unabridged Audiobook
Took a long time to get into this book. It kept bouncing back-and-forth between time periods, which I normally like I ended up finishing it only because I don’t like to leave books unfinished, but not really sure I would choose it again.
I live Emily Rankins's narration, she is one of the best in the business. Emily Rankin is the only reason I pushed myself to finish this book. This book was physically painful to listen too!
I hated it and then I loved it. As a mom of a toddler it was too real and not the escapism I wanted. It transformed into an amazing story of ending generational trauma, forgiveness, acceptance and an ability to recognize the joy in your life through friendship, children and your partner. It showed the power of mothers and even if you are feel you are failing, if you’re trying, that’s all that matters
An amazing read, loved the book
I had to think about this rating. Very well written and narrated, but so crushingly depressing and almost completely devoid of hope. In the end, despite its definite quality, I wish I had not chosen it.
