Unabridged Audiobook
Sooooooo annoying on two levels. If I had to hear from the author one more time, "just a mom", I was going to slit my throat. It was the worst book I have listened to/read within the past year. To add more insult to injury, Cynthia Nixon made the child sound like a whiney, throaty adult when she was supposed to be an 8 year old child. Save yourself the agony and purchase another book.
As usual, Lisa Scottoline delivers on an exciting and innovative story. I would have preferred another reader, as sometimes, the reader made the characters sound like they had speech impediments. Barbara Rosenblatt would have been a better choice. The book has so many twists and turns, a real "who done it". Kept my attention. Enjoyed it, although i wonder how a lawyer would have all that time to do the investigation.
Lisa Scottoline does not disappoint readers in "Save Me." The book goes deep to the heart and has many layers. The best part is that you don't know where the next chapter will take you. The question of "Is Rose over-protective?" is a theme that runs through the book. What would you do? Have you been ever had a child who stood out from the crowd? Have you been the child who stood out in the crowd? Apart from the story itself, it was a thought-provoking book.
Book was good but Melly was a whiner and arose was overprotective.
If you love David Sedaris you will love hearing his performance at Carnegie Hall. Reading David's books is entertaining but HEARING him emphasize his points (the hand was RUBBER!)is hilarious. An added bonus is his interaction with his audience--his improvisation is as funny as the earlier material he read.
