This is book two in the DCI McNeill series set in Edinburgh, Scotland. I really enjoyed book one in the series (Scars of the Past) and the main characters introduced in that novel are further developed in this. The mystery has twists and turns and one has to like Mac and his roguish grin which helps get him out of “trouble.” Mac’s back story (the death of his sister) continues to be developed in this novel. I also listened to the audio book and like Andrew Watson who narrates the novel. He is great at changing accents for the different characters and I enjoyed the pacing. I’m looking forward to book three in the series.

A well written story which kept your attention , good characters and an insight into Mac’s personal life . I will definitely be looking out the rest of the series
