Unabridged Audiobook
Narration was magnificent! Wouldn't change a thing! I prefer this to narrators who try to do various voices for each character. Overall, very good book. The plot, the characters and the way they interacted made me want to be a part of their team. The only part that created dissonance for me was Anderson, the jerk nobody wanted to work with, was quickly brought on board to new ideas - somebody as incompetent and mean as he was described as being, would not typically give up his "I'm right" way of doing things. There were some things that I disliked: (SPOILERS) There is little, if any, evidence indicating childhood head trauma can cause childhood ADHD. Head trauma in childhood can sometimes lead to ADHD type symptoms in adults, but that is a far cry from head trauma causing ADHD. Boiling the frog thing was disproven years ago so it's an outdated reference. Then there's this... Johanne (sp) wakes up out of a coma and has an in depth conversation immediately? Puh-lease! Loved the book until Johanne woke up. It all felt forced, out-of-place, and was very unbelievable. Plus, Michelle gets all self-righteous saying she's sick of his lies while she's not being honest with him. Puh! She kept calling him an idiot, talking down to him, then demanding more information, then telling him how stupid he was... it was so annoying. After lecturing Johanne about how stupid he was, her "brilliant" solution is to lie and hide evidence. Pshhhh! This stuff with Michelle and Johanne was so out of place with the rest of the book. I LOVED Jessica's character, along with many others. In fact, character development overall was phenomenal. The exception is Michelle. They all went on and on about how formidable she was but one or two words from Jessica and she came unhinged... her character seemed loose/inconsistent. Ending was anti climactic. The story was moving along, and then just stopped. Felt like someone slammed a door in my face.
Really enjoyed.
