Unabridged Audiobook
This is by far my all-time favorite Audiobook. The content and narration are both superb. Hanson tells the story of WWII in a novel way--more thematic than chronologic. A wealth of new perspectives and resulting new data are provided. It's so good I listen to it over and over. Great for lulling off to sleep, too.
Thoroughly enjoyed the traverse through history. It was difficult for me to discern the topical structure and organization, but once I did I made more cohesive sense of the story. This is a very academic read.
The book was excellent. Content may be better in written form because of the numerous references and parallels to events throughout history (some hard to process quickly and keep up with the audiobook). The negative for me was the narrator. I found him very distracting with audible deep breathing sounds (sometimes bordering on sounding like sighs).
