Summary
A 6'5 NHL goalie walks into a bar and meets the love of his life… no, this isn't the start of a bad joke.

I had a chance encounter in a dimly lit bar that led to an earth-shattering kiss with a beautiful stranger.

But then the next morning my world is rocked again--when I walk inside my team captain's house and see her.

Farrah Remington isn't a mysterious stranger after all—she's the little sister of my captain and best friend. A woman firmly off limits to anyone on the D.C. Eagles.

Now, I have to pretend that kiss never happened. But the more I see Farrah, the hotter our chemistry burns, and the stronger our connection grows—until we can't resist each other any longer.

Sneaking around isn't ideal, but what my team captain doesn't know won't hurt him (or piss him off in the middle of the Stanley Cup playoffs).

I'm with my dream girl and my team is sailing through playoffs… until the truth comes out.

Now my team captain hates me, I can't keep pucks out of my net to save my life, and the woman I love won't speak to me.

Can I save my relationship, my friendship, and enough goals to help the D.C. Eagles finally win the Cup… or will I get shut out of Farrah's life forever?

⸻ I got four out of the five books in the series. I genuinely don’t know why I did this to myself, probably because I can’t resist a two-for-one deal. These books are meant to be fade-to-black romance, which is fine if done right. In this case, though, it translates to a complete lack of physical and emotional intimacy between the characters. To make matters worse, the way the couples talk about sex comes across as so juvenile that I had second-hand embarrassment for the entirety of the series. They sounded like kids who don’t actually know what people do behind closed doors. As if that alone isn’t bad enough, we get five books’ worth of absolutely nothing. Granted, I only read four out of the five, but I think it’s a safe assumption. The only time there was any chemistry or enjoyable banter was in Desire and Defense. Thats not to say it’s a good book, it’s just better than whatever garbage was in the other books in series. Overall, these books were just a collection of tropes tied together with cringey, forced dialogue.

This was the final book in the DC Eagles Hockey series. I loved that these stories are all connected. The players on the team each have a unique story but the relationship you see that they all have with one another is phenomenal. I laughed so much reading this book. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the struggles getting worked through and the growth the characters experienced. This book does get a little hot but still fits in the fade to black category. I highly recommend this series if you can read in order that is preferred. I plan to read them all again because I enjoyed them that much.
