Summary
The Wallflowers

Four young ladies at the side of the ballroom make a pact to help each other find husbands . . . no matter what it takes

Proud and beautiful Annabelle Peyton could have her pick of suitors—if only she had a dowry. Her family is on the brink of disaster, and the only way Annabelle can save them is to marry a wealthy man. Unfortunately her most persistent admirer is the brash Simon Hunt, a handsome and ambitious entrepreneur who wants her as his mistress.

Annabelle is determined to resist Simon's wicked propositions, but she can't deny her attraction to the boldly seductive rogue, any more than he can resist the challenge she presents. As they try to outmaneuver each other, they find themselves surrendering to a love more powerful than they could have ever imagined. But fate may have other plans—and it will take all of Annabelle's courage to face a peril that could destroy everything she holds dear.

I love this story! I love the alliance between the four women. Simon is a hero that one can root for - seemingly “beneath” the girls, has unrequited love for the heroine, and proves to be the one she must have! My only criticism of this audio book is that the Prologue was left out!! I probably would have understood Annabelle’s distaste for Simon if I had known about their history! After I had listened to the book, a friend who read the book told me about the prologue! I had to find the paperback book to read it! Why was the prologue left out of this copy??? Rosalyn Landor is my favorite voice-over talent! She can do any voice and her characters are very believable.

As others stated, it's a bit slow in the beginning. But the story gradually gets better and it's very rare that a story makes me laugh *and* brings tears. Well done

Another wonderfully written love story by LK with just the right amount of ingredients called for in a romance.

The performer, Rosalyn Landor was a bit over the top. I thought it was quite overacted.
