Abridged Audiobook
Outdated, fairly pointless, author is so egotistical he read it himself with a lisp
This is the first book, audio book or otherwise, that I've quit reading. Perhaps its because the observations no longer hold up in 2017? Either way, the conclusions were a reach and the work just wasn't compelling enough to continue. Made it about a third through before bailing.
I really liked this book, but that's because I'm a gen-xer and I grew up with all the same pop culture things he writes about. If you weren't allowed to watch TV growing up or never read a comic book, you wont like this one.
This book has to be the surprise book of the year for me. Imagine a GenXer David Sedaris, that's the best way I can describe it. Satirical, funny, I actually laughed out loud a few times which is rare for me. If you enjoy comedy poking fun at pop culture and even occassionally hitting close to home, this is something you will enjoy!
Just plain horrible--Kept hoping it would get better but it got worse--was able to get through 2 C-D's and sent it back.
If you are in the mood to be bored to death, bludgeoned with pop culture pontifications, slain by the inane, please rent this book. It is Cocoa Puffs for the ears.
