Sex, Power & Prima Facie: When Art becomes Activisim & the Creatress Rises

What happens when Art becomes a movement -

And a woman dares to use her body, voice, and story to shift culture?

Sex, Power & Prima Facie takes us beyond the stage and into the living heart of one of the most vital conversations of our time - sexual harm, justice, consent, embodiment, and the transformative power of art.

Through the internationally acclaimed one-woman play Prima Facie, Cassandra Woodhouse stood alone on stage night after night, lending her body and voice to a story that cracked open silence across Aotearoa.

What unfolded in theatres - the tears, the confessions, the courage - became something far greater than performance.

“Cassandra has delivered a war cry for the wounded wahine within too many of us.”

- Tarryn Utiger

This is not only a book about sexual harm.

It is a book about healing.

About reclaiming power.

About becoming whole again.

Woven with intimate personal storytelling, survivor voices, cultural insight, conscious parenting, and embodied wisdom, Cassandra invites readers into a journey of alchemy - where pain becomes purpose, silence becomes voice, and awareness becomes prevention.

Inside these pages, you will discover:

• Why rape myths still shape our culture - and how to dismantle them

• How consent begins long before the bedroom

• What survivors truly need in order to heal

• Why embodiment is essential for justice, prevention, and self-worth

• How art becomes activism - and activism becomes love

This book is for survivors.

For parents raising the next generation.

For artists, educators, and change-makers.

For anyone who believes culture can shift - and wants to be part of that change.

When art becomes alchemy, the creatress rises.

And so can we.
