This book is truly life changing. The theology is on point and the best part, it simplifies the relationship that God wants with us. The narration is beautiful with well placed inflection and voicing. Theologically it is on point, really understanding scripture and unpacking it so simply with these charactets have helped me to reassess my relationship with God. The great beauty of the love of God is displayed very clearly and simply here. Fantastic book and Amazing narration.

The Shack was just as sweet and inspiring the second time around. The love and grace of God is tangible!

I am not a practicing Catholic and/or a very religious person. But I love this book. What have I learned? I learned to communicate more with my lovely wife! Thank you Mr. Young for an incredible journey.

This book has literally changed my life and has set my mind free from religiosity and the box I had God in. This is my third time reading it but, I honestly love having it read to me as the narrator changes his voice as he represents different characters. So glad I opened my mind to allow God the opportunity reveal His true nature. I would recommend that everyone on this planet have a chance to experience God the way both Mack and myself, as well as millions of others have through this book!

Excellent non-fiction that makes you evaluate your belief system and your relationship with God.

I loved this book. I read the paperback a few years ago, and just finished listening to the audiobook last night. The narrator is pretty good. No complaints here.

Outstanding Book!!! I saw the movie and thought it was one of the best and most unique movies about God I've seen in a very long time. I actually saw the movie 3 times and wanted to know more. A friend recommended that I read the book because it contained much more about the interaction between Mack and the trinity of God. Sure enough, it did. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the book elaborated on the weekend communion and fellowship between Mack, Papa, Sarayu, Jesus and Sophia (Wisdom). The author's depiction of God was different than anything I have seen or read; yet, made complete sense. It was as if someone took many "loose ends" of my understanding about God and tied them into something which, in retrospect, seemed very obvious. My thought was "of course, why didn't I think of this?" I LOVED how Papa, Jesus and Sarayu interacted with one another. God's love for Mack was an extension of the eternal loving relationship the author described between and among each person of the trinity. The author's description of the loving relationship between each person of the trinity was an "Aha!" moment for me. It made complete sense and helped me envision, for the first time, a believable personification of the trinity. I also liked how Mack took the opportunity to ask God many of those nagging questions most of us think about from time to time. After seeing the movie and reading the book, I wanted more and didn't have to look far. With such a unique depiction of God's trinity, it is no wonder that there are many books written about this book!! I am getting ready to start another called "Finding God in the Shack." Any review without commenting on the narration would be incomplete. The narrator is an exceptionally skilled actor using every manner of voice inflection, changes in accent, and every available speech tool to bring to live each distinct character. Listening to this book was, from many perspectives, an experience to remember.

I encourage my family and friends that this is a must so if you haven't read this book please read, or listen to it on auidiobooks.com you wont regret it. Emotions were high. To be honest, at first the figure of God was hard for me to wrap my brain around, and I almost quit listening. I'm so glad I didn't! This book has touched my heart in profound ways! Thank you Mr. Young for writing this book.

I chose this book randomly and the title gave not an inkling of the story away. I was transfixed immediately and loved every line. The description of characters, scenery, and plot was spot on. It has strengthened yet changed my outlook for the better in many ways. I loved the story and the way it was told. It was meant to be that I chose it.

What a GREAT book!!! I fell in love with the story from the beginning. I recommended it to my family and they have all read it. I hope the movie follows the book.

This is the best book I've ever read in my life!!! I'm a devout Christian; at some points I felt a little apprehensive, but because I'm lazy I didn't take the time to use scripture to interpret what was implied in the novel as being scriptural so I should do that and I will. But I loved the book so much and because I have the Holy Spirit;. as I am saved... I don't see how there was anything negative or anything that was unscriptural.

Read the book 3 times and enjoyed listening to it again. There is so much healing involved in the God inspired words. This author (Paul) is a humble Man who has allowed God to use and work through him in amazing ways. Must read or listen for everyone who is or has been hurt.

Extremely creative, covers all emotions, thoughts, questions, answers in the most well rounded way. This is what God is ... all of us, our best selves, each different in many ways. Our potential is there. We can love, heal, be better to each other and ourselves... I hope we do. Everyone should read this beautiful, sad, encouraging, thought provoking story! You won’t be disappointed! Movie also amazing!

This book has helped my relationship with Papa so much. The love of our complex God is so much greater; the Gospel (good news) is so much better; His grace is so much more comprehensive and abundant; the Bible is so much more freeing...than Christianity ever taught me. Make sure you believe the true Gospel the apostle Paul taught and Jesus brought. Live in the New Covenant Jesus bought for you. I've read and listened to this book over and over because every time it reminds me God - the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit - love me perfectly not because of my morality or performance but in spite of them.

Its been a long time since a book has captured me the way this one has. At times I so wished to be the Mac. It really opened my eyes on communication and building relationships and really trying to live for God.

This book was as boring as it was slow. The premise is interesting but the booked moved so slowly that I would have rather chewed my own arm off than continue listening.

This is the worst book. No mystery at all. Feels like sitting through 10 hours of church.

Family road trip to Florida and my high school aged kids really enjoyed it. It can be wordy-long at times but the content and message is spot on!

This Audio book waddles on after a fantastic gripping start. This the only audio book from about 50 that I've listened to that I seriously thought about switching off. I'm very open to religious view and well as Spiritual opinions but goodness me this was to the extreme. The conversations just drone on and on. It just made me angry and won't forgive the 9 or so hours I lost sitting in traffic listening to this book. I just wanted to put my review out there as I can see a lot of people loved this but sorry, I'm not sold!

I started listening because I thought it was going to be mysterious. I turned it off. It was horrible.

I heard a movie for this book was coming out and so in anticipation of that, I picked up this audiobook. The story was not as I expected - a lot more religious than mysterious. That said, it's a powerful novel full of faith and hope. I love the authors' symbolism of the characters.
