Unabridged Audiobook
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. Sharks are magnificent creatures and this gave me a new appreciation for them.
I totally enjoyed this story especially hearing the narrator do such an excellent job of pronouncing Hawaiian words and getting the pidgin accent just right. The story depicts a very important topic and needs to be told and retold from time to time. A young girl survived a shark bite that took her arm and she has gone on to do some wonderful things. This happened while I was living on Oahu around the early 2000’s.
I read the great reviews and was looking forward to reading this book, but it was rather lame. The ending was a let down.
A bit of a slow read. The narrator starts the book without much enthusiasm but settles into the roles as the book continues. I expected a bit more scare from a book about sharks but that did not transpire at all. I guess that is the point. The most interesting character was the actress and she played a minor role. It would have been better to get into her head with her impacted career and family.
