This was a great book. Kept me listening and intrigued as to what was next. The ending was crazy and exciting. Excellent read!

I liked the book initially, a few pages. Then I wasn’t sure if this was a criminal, horor or erotically charged horrory ( maybe not a word) story. The twist at the end didn’t make sense to me. What was the moral of it? Cutting oneself off is an illness, this is not a thing to be glamorized by any means, books or a movie. What about the other two girls who helped Emma killing by struggling!!! Not one but to girls? Mother monster? Unbelievable that a publisher published a book like that. It sickens the youngsters. Don’t you see it?

Sick, and deranged but hard to put down. Guess the saying "it doesn't fall far from the tree" is right because that girl and her mother........just read the book, (I don't wanna give it all away). Gillian Flynn did it again.

Now THIS was interesting! I would say it's a fresh take on domestic thrillers, but it was written before they became really popular, so I'll just say that for me, this is how they should be done. It's far superior to many of the domestic thrillers oversaturating the market right now. A compelling take on the female psyche not often written about, this book was filled with terrible characters doing terrible things, but I could not stop reading until the twisted end.

Camille has some serious issues. She is a reporter that is assigned to a story about a murder in her old home town. She is not only mentally disturbed and cuts her self, She is nasty as a perverted truck driver that needs to get laid. Sorry bout her luck. I had a hard time listening to her desperate sexual desires and her mental issues. I'm no Sherlock but I had it figured out fairly early. That was the best part of the story (who did it). Just didn't care for the s***** Camille who is an alcoholic. What a depressing character!

I love Gillian Flynn novels, but this isn't one of those. I hated everyone in this book. I didn't care what happened to any of them.

I was so excited to start reading this one, especially because of how much I've loved Gillian Flynn's other books! I gotta start off by saying that when the story first starts off, it's begins as a very sloooow read (in my opinion), but eventually picks up in a much faster, thrilling pace. The storyline is captivating and the ending- unforeseeable. I fell in love with certain characters, in which I never thought I'd like. Flynn's infamous writing style just keeps you wanting more!!

This was SO GOOD! it's my second novel by Gillian Flynn and I absolutely loved it. It was easy to get in to and difficult to put down. I even listened on my 10 minute coffee breaks because I just had to know what was going to happen next. A few things were a little typical for this style of novel, which is a shame, but that doesn't really take away anything from the story as a whole. I think the narrator did a good job bringing the story and characters to life and would like to recommend this book to anyone looking to experience some of the darker aspects of the human mind.

It is an absolutely superb book, I love it, I was intrigued the whole time, I couldn’t stop listening, the ending was simply perfect, great narration of a great book 10 out of 10!

This book is the very HEART of why I love to read...exhilarating, unknowing, edge of my seat, things I would never think of (words "speaking" on skin). It is a dark book but they is why it is in the Mystery, Thriller and Horror Category. Narration was excellent. I have had a few books where the narrator turns me off immediately and I don't finish the book.

Shocking in so many ways. Very well written and narrated. It is very dark, but it’s unpredictable and raw and it shows that humans, indeed, can be monsters no matter age or gender. Throughout, I had a thought pop up of how does one think of such a storyline?

This book was very dark and almost crossed my threshold. It did hook me, I wanted to know the finish but it was so dark, to the end. Absolutely no ....uplifting... part...whatsoever so be warned

A finely crafted thrill ride. Gillian Flynn is clearly a master of character development —and having Patricia Clarkston as a mental picture for Adora made it all the more riveting. Was not entirely surprised by the ending, as some readers were, but enjoyed the ride all the way. Looking forward to the next Gillian Flynn mind bender.

Writing was good, narration was good - but I did not like the book - I don't like to see so much darkness with really no light.

Crazy twist. Loved the narration - couldn’t have been better. I read Gone Girl and knew I wanted to read this one. I’m buying the Dark Places book too. It did drag a little in the middle. But overall very suspenseful and well written. Would highly recommend!

A great listen with surprising twists and turns and insights even though there were hints along the way. A disturbing look into disturbed minds. The narrator had a few questionable pronunciations, but otherwise did a great job narrating.

I've listened to this book twice, and I probably will listen many more times. Flynn is a fantastic author and I enjoy her work immensely. The way she develops her characters and storyline are a rare talent nowadays.

I was rereading this book, I can't wait for her to come out with more.

I've read Gone Girl first and found this very good as well, maybe better. Again, as with her other novels, I was trying to guess all the time and was not even close to write. Really an amazing read.

I loved this and I love Gillian Flynn's writing style! Her stories are so delicious dark with some satiric comedy thrown in. I definitely recommend it!

Absolutely loved this book. I thought I had the end predicted but then it twisted around and still surprised me. Very much enjoyed it and having a hard time now finding a book that appeals to me as much as this one did.

This is my favorite book of all time and was written by my favorite author of all time. Everything written by Gillian Flynn is twisted and keeps you wanting more. Sharp Objects is suspenseful along with a little scary With all of Gillian Fllyn's books just when you think you have the ending figured out, you don't. She has a way of keeping you on the edge of you seat guessing, but never do you guess the end. . You want to keep reading or listening. If I had had the time I would have listed to it straight though. The narration was extremely good. I recommended all of Gillian Flynn's books! Happy Reading/Listening!

Surreal, scary and suspenseful! This book had so many twists, and turns that I never saw coming. Every chapter took me by surprise and was better than the previous one. A wonderful page turner that once started is hard to stop until it`s done. Every time you think you have it all figured out, that everything makes sense it does a 180 on you!

Fast paced and engaging

This book was so slow. I barely held on for the whole thing because I kept waiting for it to get better. It was the slowest paced whodunit that had a predictable plot line. No character growth or development at all from the main character. Narrator was okay but not great.

I LOVED this book and loved the narrator! People saying it’s glamorizing self harm and mental illness, my god, she’s a character in a thriller book! And Dora’s review that gives everything away, I wish these reviews were monitored for that stuff! I HIGHLY recommend this book, I absolutely loved it. It’s now a mini series as well!

Excellent narrator! The story has a good twist and interesting depiction on psychopathology in this story.

This contemporary who-dunnit was highly immersive with captivating, dysfunctional family dynamics and a beautifully flawed protagonist. The narrator’s voice had great range when depicting different characters as well as wonderful cadence.

My first book by this author and I really liked it! Suspenseful, riveting and I couldn't stop listening, found myself taking the long way home just so I could finish the chapters ( I primarily listen to my Audiobooks in my car). The narrator was excellent as well. Great read!

Book was very dark. So many dark characters, so much evil. Definitely not a feel good story. Narrator was excellent at times but on a few occasions it was difficult to know what character was talking. Found it hard to keep track of what happened to whom and was getting the names mixed up, I started watching the HBO series to help me keep it straight without spoiling the book as the episodes ran behind what I was reading. As soon as I finished the book, I stopped watching. Just too much!

Love Gilliam Flynn’s creepy novels. Saw the show and then had to check out the book to see how it compares. It doesn’t disappoint.

Very slow and the narrator made it seem even more so. Story was ok but dragged on. Narrator sounded like Siri or a GPS navigator.

This was a depressing listen. I tried to like the main character but found her sad and weak. The description of the town is a cliche of mid West America which I did not appreciate. The ending was disturbing. However, I did listen to it all. Glad it’s over.

Got this book for a book club and it was an ok read due to me not reading suspense types of books.At times I found the book to be too descriptive of sounds or surroundings. Other than that a little slow but a decent short book.

Flynn knows how to write a story. She also is hilarious and so observant about the human condition. Highly recommend.
