Captivating story, I like the twist. Needed a little more romance but I feel it’s because is the first book and the story needed to be set. I would tell readers to pay attention to her questions, even when her monologue was cringy and exhausting, it had clues. Overall I enjoyed it a lot.

Wow. Samantha Brentmoor killed it, as usual. Her pacing is incredible. I hope the next book is from the Guardian's point of view, though, because I imagine that Jason Clarke will be just as amazing. Loved the story, though I was on to several of the twists before they happened. Still feel in the dark overall, though, so I'm hooked. There are lots of little clues that have been laid out but not yet explained, and I look forward to learning more about them.

The book was very easy going and easy to understand and build the world and characters, the plot is good and keeps you hooked untill the end. The narrators are amazing!!! 10 stars for performance, I really enjoyed it.

There was a moment where I had a hard time, getting locked into the story, and didn’t know where it was going, but I stuck with it and eventually it turned out to be good, and I’m looking forward to the next book. The narrator had a slight accent, which was kind of interesting as well.

Once I got a few chapters in I had lo finish it! I’m looking forward to the next one! Recommend by a friend and I am NOT disappointed… a book I will definitely come back and read again!

What killed my vibe was the narrators. Its a small thing but it really sets the scene and imersion. The narrator always had an inflection that went up at the end of the sentence and the voices were not nuanced enougk for me. I am waiting for graphic audio to do this one and i will return to it.

I loved this story SO MUCH 6 star read for me. The narrators? Even Samantha had me feeling things I'm not even ashamed to admit I was feeling lol I ate this up and I hope they are both the narrators for the next book April can't come soon enough!

This story is riveting ! keeps your attention to the end!

This book had moments of writing that expressed human emotions with significant empathy. However, it was very slow at times, with too much prolonged inner turmoil. Further, I often found it difficult to determine inner thoughts from actual conversations. I would recommend this book even though the ending was very dissatisfying. Overall it was well written okay story line but again it just didn’t completely hit the mark.

Good book but now have to wait until April 2026 to get more answers to endless questions. Samantha Brentmoor did really well on differentiating voices for the various characters but this would have been even better if it was read in duet. I was bummed that Jason Clarke only read the final chapter.

This book was recommended on Booktok, and it was insufferable. It took so long until the very end for it to even barely get interesting, I almost DNF. These fantasy books are becoming all the same. It's getting old.
