Unabridged Audiobook
This was a bloody, smutty, action packed retelling of The Little Mermaid. I didn’t expect the spin the author put on this story, but it was fun. As a historical pirate fantasy it was filled with brutality, heartbreak, and romance. I especially enjoyed the way various topics were explored like personal autonomy and embracing your imperfect self. Not only were they interesting but they added more depth to the characters struggles and motivations.
Thoroughly enjoyed it very much.5 for John Masterson as RamsayHe sounded exactly how I imagined Ramsay. The accent is on point and he perfectly conveyed the emotions of Ramsay. he also did a good job narrating the other characters and love how he gave each one a different sound and accent so you could tell who he was voicing as.3 for Jo Raylan as MarenMaren's voice is a little too slow especially when she's reading Ramsay's parts and the supposedly scottish accent sounded a little off. Sometimes too soft spoken when the emotions I got from reading the book is the opposite of gentle/soft.for example when Maren is seething and yelling in anger...Jo was voicing it like someone who's not angry but rather just a little upset and was whispering. She still did a pretty good job
