Abridged Audiobook
Kathy Bates is beyond spectacular, glorious! I cannot believe how talented she is.
I enjoyed this book immensely. The movie was better and I would have liked an UNABRIDGED version far better, but the voice actor made it work.
I really liked this audio book. It was narrated beautifully by Kathy Bates (Misery, The Waterboy) and she did a wonderful job with accents and different voices for various characters. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it was the abridged version and not the whole book. It was interesting to see how this differed from the movie. The movie made use of cuts and did things a little differently for the sake of pace, which probably enhanced the material in my opinion, but I'm a definate movie guy. At the same time, I really enjoyed the book and just wish it could've been the unabridged version.
This is one of those rare occasions where I have to say the movie was better than the book, but still a good read uh - I mean listen.
Well I said this about the other Harris book from the Trilogy that I've rented this is GREAT. I am and I loved it. Had read the book, seen the movie (several times) and STILL loved it. Kathy Bates narrates, and personally, I liked Harris on the other book better. Never would have thought that, but it was true. If you liked the movie, then rent this. If not, who knows!
