Summary:

Hundreds of thousands of women have been inspired to get real about the food they eat after reading the best-selling manifesto Skinny Bitch. Now it's time for the guys to have a book of their own.

Guys like the Milwaukee Brewers' Prince Fielder and the Dallas Mavericks' Jerry Stackhouse, who have adopted a whole new eating plan by reading over their girlfriends' shoulders, can now have a book especially for them. In Skinny Bastard the authors explain why the macho "meat and potatoes" diet is total crap-and a turn-off-and how to get buff on the right foods. Eating well shouldn't be a "girlie" thing, and the internationally famous Skinny Bitches will whip any man into shape with their straight talk, sound guidance, and locker-room language. This is another in the widely popular series of no-nonsense, tough-love guides to real health.

"[In] Skinny Bitch, the authors gobbled up female diet trends with voracious aplomb. Here they tackle men's diets with the same tongue-lashing and lip-smacking zest...[Hillary Huber's] sinewy delivery, rich with well-timed pauses and thoughtful inflection, evokes the authors' scolding contempt with droll precision...Provocative food for thought."-AudioFile

I should have done more research on this book before ordering it. The title should be "Become a Vegan now, you *&@#%#!" The author's narrative is supposed to be cool, but it is condenscending at best and consistently one-sided in all aspects. The conclusions are sweeping and unqualified. If you are looking for a summary of scary food industry practicese and a littany of what's wrong with America's diet, this is your book. If you are looking for balance, look elswhere.
