Summary
Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wake-up call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as 'Soda is liquid Satan' and 'You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin,' it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the listener laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there is solid guidance. Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables and encourages women to get excited about feeling 'clean and pure and energized.'

While she may be knowledgeable about nutrition, the expletive laced writing was a turn off. Seemed like listening to the rants of rebellious, bratty teens in the kitchen. Yes, the title was a clue; but I thought it was going to be more irreverent than so thoroughly rude.

This is exactly what I NEEDED to hear. The facts. The evidence and the NO NON-SENSE TOUGH LOVE GUIDE. I appreciate the bluntness greatly. This puts it all on the table and gives it straight to the point. This approach can be off putting but personally I respect this very much.

Perhaps I didn't realise what this book was about. I felt this ran its own agenda on anti animal-based food products and promoting particular plant based foods and this dampened what info I tried to receive on what foods I should eat which help my weight loss and why they do. I am someone who predominantly follows a WFPB diet.

*This Review Contains Spoilers* This book was not what I expected. The sample was a funny narrative on dieting & eating right. Once I purchased the book it turned into a disturbing explanation of animals abuse & vegan lifestyle. The explicit way this animal abuse is explained is nothing short of gruesome. I guess it worked, I haven't ate meat or any animal products since I listened to this.

I thought this book would be a sassy take on what a healthy life looks like - Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle crossed with Sarah Silverman. And perhaps it was, but the intense detail she went into over animal treatment and their factory deaths had me grabbing my stomach and frantically searching for ginger ale. I read Fast Food Nation, I buy cage free eggs...while I appreciate the authors' obvious passion for the subject (inhumane animal treatment) the graphic nature of the descriptions had me return the book halfway through disc two (crying and feeling like retching while commuting does not a good day make).

Couldn't even stand to listen to this book. I'm not overweight, but I felt offended on behalf of everyone who is. It's a shame, because there actually seems to be some good nuggets of information and there may have been some legitimate research as well. However, it is so over-the-top annoying I could only stomach a few chapters before sending it back.

WOW the language in this book was horrible and I thought I had a potty mouth :) I really did not enjoy this book and felt it had too much conspiracy theory...I mean really if you followed this books advice you would be a skinny bitch because you would have to live on water. no wait that might be contaminated too according to the author...

The first couple of chapters were funny and informative, however once the author got off on their conspiracy theories and political agendas it became very annoying. Not what I had expected.

The worst book I've read in my life. The impression I received that I live in the country where goverment and all agencies are corrupt and try to put all people in sick beds... I am surprised that we are still alive here. The tone of book is just outrageous...

Forgive me all my vegetarian friends, but this is not a diet book. It is not the answer to your prayers to finally lose those 20 extra pounds you've been wanting to get rid of...It is about the evils of meat, poultry, dairy, etc. Two stars for good detailed research and a naughty naughty for fooling me into buying this book with a title that will sale lots of books. I don't like being tricked into being aware.
