Summary
Discover #1 New York Times-bestselling Patrick Rothfuss’ epic fantasy universe of The Kingkiller Chronicle, in this illustrated companion novella, The Slow Regard of Silent Things.

“I just love the world of Patrick Rothfuss.” —Lin-Manuel Miranda

Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place.

Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes. And it gives the reader a chance to learn things that only Auri knows....

In this book, Patrick Rothfuss brings us into the world of one of The Kingkiller Chronicle’s most enigmatic characters. Full of secrets and mysteries, The Slow Regard of Silent Things is the story of a broken girl trying to live in a broken world.

Yes, the book is short. I never found it hard to follow. I actually adored that Audi’s story is narrated by Patrick himself. No one else could have done it justice. The note at the end, where he says it’s not for everyone made me cry. It’s my story too. Ty P.R. - it was excellent and I patiently await any new or revised stories from you.

Auri is one of the most amazing characters I’ve ever read. So good.

It's short... It's short... It's short... The book is short and hard to follow.

It is so ridiculous that the author has had writer's block for 7 years or so. Finish the series!

The first and second book were great. But this is garbage. The author couldn’t complete his contractual obligations so he gave them this hot garbage. And I get that writers block is a real thing. But to side step the project completely and instead of giving the third book, we get a book about the point of view of a side character that isn’t really a side character but a character talked about for 2% of the book? And nothing major or important has to do with her. So why tell the story from her point of view? Could’ve told the story from 10 other peoples perspective and it be better.

Horrible waste of time and money. Unless you like hours of personification of inanimate objects. I was tricked into buying this assuming it was a continuation of the story.

This was a thing of beauty. I do love Aurie.

More please. I swear he jus wants to run his bar and forget he was ever a hero.

Love this and everything Patrick has done. I think this is my favorite after name of the wind
