Summary
My standard issued lab badge reads 'Simon', but it really should say 'unexciting nerd with no social life.' Don't get me wrong-I love what I do with a passion, but it doesn't leave a lot of time for much else. Especially romance.

While chipping away at my work, I'm suddenly the person between hired cartel muscle and the fossil that will define my career. Which isn't the most insane part of the story.

My savior is a chaotic, bat-wielding punk with a bubble-gum pink mohawk and a killer smile.

In a mad dash to escape the thieves, my knight in studded armor sweeps me across the country while hitting every tourist trap along the way. While smuggling a fossil, might I add.

Oh, and did I mention this pink punk can shift into a dinosaur?

This is probably one of the most unique books I’ve ever read/listened. I love shifter romances and when I say I love them, I devour them like an addict would devour crack. I love all kinds of shifters in my stories but never have I ever imagined that I would one day read a book with a Dinosaur shifter in it. It was wild, it was fun, it was outrageous and it’s utterly thrilling. Dalton, the “chaotic bay-wielding punk with a bubble gum pink Mohawk” is the star of this story. He was just too adorable. And I loved how Simon sang and weaved poems about his love for relics and unknowingly paving the romance for the two of them. These two are just too lovable and the story so awesome. I couldn’t get enough of it. And Kirt Graves’ narration just elevated this book to a whole new level. Loved it to the moon and back. 5 A match made in a pile of relics stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Audio rating Story - 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Narration - 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Performance - 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall - 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book made me smile so hard (pun intended!). The characters are well- developed and incredibly entertaining, as are the action scenes. This book will make you want to cuddle your mate while re-watching The Land Before Time. You won't regret it.

Yes, Dinosaur shifters!!! I love the originality of this story, who would have thought dinosaur shifters could be so cool and just plain awesome! I really enjoyed the uniqueness of this story and the curious connection between Dalton and Simon. Dinosaurs mate for life! I did find a few inconsistencies between the audio and the ebook but the overall story was an awesome adventure and the narration was fantastic! I can't wait for more in this series and am totally excited for a T-Rex finding his HEA!! I can't wait!!

Smash & Grab is an enjoyable action packed story about Simon, a paleontologist, and Dalton, a dinosaur shifter who comes to Simon's aid when he's attacked and the fossil he's working on is about to be stolen. Simon and Dalton go on a fascinating and fun journey trying to keep the fossil from getting into the wrong hands and getting to know each other better. Dalton is such a great character and I loved him and Simon together. I need more of their story. Definitely recommend. Narrator Kirt Graves does a marvelous job.

I loved this! So much fun to listen to, it reminded me a little bit of a comedy caper film with romance added in for extra feels. Dalton truly is one of a kind as a man with a pink mohawk, tattoos and piercings..... oh and he's also a dinosaur shifter! At first he and Simon are very much at odds as they evade men who have come to steal a recently found fossil. Dalton was sent to retrieve it before they did and rescued Simon mid theft. They couldn't be more different as Simon is a quiet, workaholic palaeontologist whilst Dalton does things as he feels, reacting in the moment. However, as they spend time together they can't help but fall for each other's sparkling personalities and quirks. This book has a really great plot and I was drawn in right from the start. I love the history of Dalton's character that we slowly learn over time. Definitely a different type of shifter than I've read before and he is part of a group that exists like he does, working to return fossils to their rightful homes and keep them from evil hands. Simon's character blossoms as he is on the trip with Dalton, getting the chance to have some fun away from his basement workroom and sees new possibilities in his future. Definitely a recommended book and a great new series. I'm excited for more from the series and would love to hear more from this couple along with the men that work alongside Dalton. This is my first Kirk narration and it definitely won't be the last! The personalities of the characters really shine through and make you feel even closer to them as they go along on their merry journey. Very entertaining and worth listening to.

Listening to this book definitely was a different experience then reading it. I absolutely love this story. It's fun, a little nerdy, but has its serious moments. I really liked Simon and Dalton, but Dalton was by far my favorite. Normally I really love Kirt Graves and anything he narrates, but the moments I though should have sounded funnier and more playful I didn’t quite hear it in Graves tone. Overall, I still enjoyed the narration.

The first time I heard the premise of this book really got my attention, so, I had to read it, And it didn't disappoint!, It kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. Full of adventure, hilarious situations, interesting type of shifters, a complex plot and a sweet love story this book is a gem. A very entertaining way to start a new series, especially with the amazing performance of Mr Graves. His narration as always was just perfect. So good!

Smash and Grab is the first book in the RELIC series, a contemporary paranormal series featuring dinosaur shifters and zany adventures. The book is extremely fast paced with a lot of humor and ridiculousness. I enjoyed the humor and the absurdity of some of the situations the characters found themselves in, but the plot felt too rushed and too short to really feel satisfying. There was a lot going on in the plot: ancient dinosaur shifters, a rich villain who collected fossils, evils goons chasing the main characters, and of course, the romance. The weak point for me in this book was that the author glossed over a lot of the world building/background details that would have made the plot more authentic and engaging. I never understood exactly WHY the rich villain had to have the fossil egg Simon (the paleontologist main character) was working on. Why did he insist on stealing it when it was a U.S. facility instead of waiting for the fossil egg to be transported to Mongolia? Security for the egg would be easier to penetrate during transportation than in the U.S. The motivations of the villains just did not feel genuine and neither did the law enforcement response to the egg being stolen. I know that plot point was really just an excuse to force Dalton (the shape-shifting dino) and Simon together and have them go on the run, but the weakness of this plot point just really made the whole the plot seem absurd. What saved this book from being a two star or three star read was the quality of the author’s writing, the abundance of humor, the sweet romance, and the uniqueness of the characters and dinosaur shifters. I think if some of the weak points of the plot had been addressed or tweaked, this would definitely be a five star read for me, but as it is, this book fell between a 3.5 star to 4 star rating. I fully recommend this book to anyone who wants some silliness and fluff with a bunch of over the top action and a cute romance. The audiobook was narrated by Kirt Graves narrated the audiobook and did a fantastic job with it. Kirt is a talented voice actor and really does a nice job of voicing all the characters consistently with the right amount of energy for each scene. The audiobook production was also well done and it overall led to a great listening experience.

This book was hilarious, but also too short. Like I want 5 books with Simon and Dalton!!! They were everything. And this storyline was unlike anything I have read. Never read about dinosaur shifters!! And paleontology is so interesting. Love the banter between Simon and Dalton and just Dalton in general. He was a riot. Kirk Graves does phenomenal on the audio. Definitely 5 star read and would recommend. Cannot wait to see what comes next. Also, Maz is a new to me author and it blew me away!!

This was my first Maz Maddox book, but I love Kirt Graves so I was excited to try his latest narration. I was thoroughly entertained by this. Such an original story, with dino-shifters for Pete's sake! So awesome. I will be following Maddox for the next in the series.

This book was awesome! A shifter who is a dinosaur?!? What?? Simon, paleontologist, works too much, doesn’t have much of a life. Dalton, shifter, covered in tattoos, has a pink mow hawk, loves to have sex. One night Simon is working on a fossil and men show up who want to steal it. Dalton comes in and saves Simon. Dalton knows they need to leave NY so they start a road trip to TX. Along the way they stop at tourist traps. I really loved that. The way Simon and Dalton interact. Under the tough guy persona, Dalton is a big softie. He starting to really care about Simon. And he’s breaking down Simon. When they finally give into each other it’s HOT! No one is suppose to know that Dalton is a shifter but when Simon is threatened all bets are off. But he knows he can trust Simon. We also meet some of Dalton’s shifter friends. I’m really hoping they are getting books too! Anyways, they need to get to the safe house in TX. They are being followed. And they can’t let these guys get the fossil... This book really took me by surprise. I’ve listened to other shifter books before but never a dinosaur! I absolutely loved Dalton. You can’t help but love him! Kirt Graves is just awesome! He was the perfect Dalton. If you’re thinking about getting this audio do it!
