Unabridged Audiobook
If you liked 90s Hercules show or the animated films, I highly recommend reading this. It has problems, of course. The narrator was a little quick at points, so there might be some confusion when perspectives shift. Some moments feel a little longer than needed. On the other hand, this is an excellent start to the journey of Heracles. The framing device is fascinating. They do an amazing job of making you wonder why he did what he did that started his labors, and it shows the transition from being a man with great strength to the starting of a hero. I say if you like Hercules or Heracles, absolutely read this. The mix of dreams and realism with the fantasy and lore makes it absolutely worth it.
This is a great retelling of an old heroic myth. It leaves you at a cliffhanger and even though you know what the results will be it still is cool and you still are left wanting to know.
It was a really engaging read, with a narrator I adore. I'm normally not one for action-packed fantasy, but this book balances emotions and a good plot quite well. Excited to continue with the series!
Great telling of heracles's journey to become Hercules
