Unabridged Audiobook
The narrator delivers another outstanding performance, and the writing captures the horror and atmosphere of no man’s land with real skill. However, the fantasy thread didn’t feel fully developed, leaving me uncertain about where it was meant to lead. At times it felt like two parallel narratives that never quite fused. I appreciated the craft and the historical accuracy, but the story left me puzzled, and I’m not sure I’d pick up the next book. It’s undeniably well written—just not compelling enough for me to continue the series.
