Unabridged Audiobook
really great book!
I really enjoyed this book and I rarely write reviews so that says a lot. The romance to the death and the deception to their death shown through a war is not what I expected. It was shocking and I even shed a few tears at the end . It’s not the kind of book I usually read, but I’m so glad I did and I would recommend! And I’ll definitely listen to this book again!
This book was beautifully written… had me in tears and all the emotions
Simplistic, unrealistic view of human emotion, desires, and actions. I had to suspend incredulity several times. Great narration though.
This writing along with the narration brought me to a world similar to Memoirs of a Geisha. Forbidden love and war.

Absolutely riveting. At times the plot relies on cliche or a stretch, but I was able to accept and believe it. The romance is a delight and there is an epic feel. This book might break you and emotionally devastate you at times, so be aware. I loved it.
A tale as old as time
I have been taught that readers should be able to identify a tragedy from the first sentence of a story. My reading history has shown me that this is largely accurate. First sentences can also draw you in or turn you off. I was drawn in by the title; iIt warned me that the story was a tragedy. So beautifully written and presented: like the protagonist hiding her poison behind a carefully created facade. I was warned so should not have been surprised to be gutted at the end. Time with this audiobook was time well spent.
such a true message. this was well written and did a great job of 'showing not telling'.
A predictable anime that just goes on and on
Fast pasted. It made me want to root for the enemy. I didn’t expect it to end like that.
