Unabridged Audiobook
Amazing! This book was really difficult for me. I had no idea of what to expect, but Faulkner’s words were like birds, flying up and while trying to catch them, so many would escape, and I would have to reread lines- even whole chapters. I absolutely loved this book. It embedded itself into my brain, and even followed me into my dreams. The narrator was perfect. His accent was spot on for the time/place. I’ll be looking for more of his stuff, for sure.
Beautiful writing. I enjoyed how the book unfolded through the perspective of the different characters. Even though they were from the South and the book takes place in the early 1900s, there were elements of these characters I see in people I have known in my life as well as people we see in our current politics
Not every novel, regardless of how revered it is, can resonate with everyone. This one did not resonate with me.
It's a great but complicated book. The audio narrator does an an excellent job but it's always going to be hard to follow.
This was a terrible and uninteresting book, this book has no place to be called a classic.
Difficult story.
Like classical music of the same era (late 1920s), the literary style needs an education to appreciate it, I guess. I cannot but echo an early critic: the author spent a lot of craftsmanship on a story that is not very interesting, and on characters that are not very compelling. The narrator did his very best bringing out the various voices of the south.
