Unabridged Audiobook
Greg Iles is one of my favorite authors and has a unique way of telling very interesting stories whether you agree with them or not. This is an intriguing and compelling story. It is a long story for which I was very grateful. I hate it when Greg Iles books end.
The narrator sounds like a wannabe shakespearian actor from a hick town troop, and if I had known that the book was a 45 hour political hit piece I would have passed and spent my money on something more entertaining.
Excellent work!
A written work that cuts through the (southern) white man's flesh like a sharpened knife, rendered ineffective by Morrow's miscasting of the voice-over artist. (What part of "Southern Man" did they miss?) If I were Iles, I'd pissed off.
I have read/listened to Greg Iles books for years. I have always enjoyed them. UNTIL NOW. I found myself angry at myself (for supporting this hateful rhetoric), at the author (for publishing something so divisive), at the sheer nonsense in the pages. This book was 45 hours long. I kept thinking if I listened, I would somehow find insight into this mindset. FINALLY, in the last 5 minutes, the author brought some common sense and common ground into the story. What a disappointment!
Best one of the series
