This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
Laimonis knows how to understand people from a distance.

At the top of a competitive online game, he is methodical, observant, and almost impossible to surprise. He knows the numbers, the rankings, and the patterns behind every match. The one player he cannot quite understand is Ausma, the quiet player who has remained just behind him for months.

They have never met.

Then a small question changes everything.

Outside the game, Laimonis discovers that the person behind the username is a seventeen-year-old girl carrying a life he never knew existed. Ausma has spent years learning how to remain unnoticed, to ask for little, and to let other people decide what she should be called. The name she uses in the game is easier to live with than the name she was given.

As their conversations move beyond matches and rankings, the distance between them begins to change. A bus route, a café, a bowl of noodles, a quiet park, and a few carefully chosen messages become more important than anything that happens on the screen.

Laimonis begins to realize that understanding someone is not the same as solving them. Ausma begins to discover that being seen does not always mean being exposed.

But there are still two names, two identities, and two versions of the same person standing between them.

The Space Between Two Names is a quiet coming-of-age romance about online friendship, hidden identities, emotional trust, and the difficult process of learning to be known for who you are rather than for the name someone else gave you.
