Unabridged Audiobook
Definitely not a book for me. I tried hard to make myself listen and become engrossed in the book to no avail. I didn’t make it to the third chapter before putting this book to the side and finding another one. This isn’t even one I would consider giving a second chance to.
Book was ok. It took A LOT for me to keep listening, I did make it to the end. The ending was somewhat unexpected. The narrator was ok her voice blended a lot throughout the book even though there were multiple characters, so wasn’t really able to tell who was speaking. But if you like the whole mythology mixed with law enforcement/ murder. This book isn’t sooooo bad. Just takes a lot to get to the point.
Good storyline. The protagonist feels a bit wooden at first (could be the translation), but as the story picks up, there are a couple startling twists that give the story a bit more “flavor” if you will. I’m on to book #2. Not as riveting as some other Scandinavian crime writers but quite decent.
Well structured story, excellent Narrator!
It took 3 tries to get thru it then it just ended.....
This just wasn’t my cup of tea. I finished it but it just wasn’t for me
Good scandi-noir plot. I found the writing bloated and the narration distracting. But police procedural often feel that way to me as audiobooks, and this is only the debut book of what is now a hit TV show.
Loved this .... liked the Nordic history / mythology lesson with the book ... narrator did a good job.
