Spirituality for Effective Living: Teachings of the Masters Through an Unenlightened Disciple

This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

This book describes how to let go of fear and anxiety and open to more peace, joy, and love. It is an accessible, practical guide for using spirituality to live a more fulfilling life. It requires no particular beliefs and has no connection to any particular religion or to religion in general. The book consists of short chapters, each of which can be read easily in one sitting. Each chapter focuses on spirituality in a different aspect of everyday life.

Marty Simon is a retired professor of education and a disciple of Yogi Amrit Desai since October 1993. He is also a follower of the teachings of Michael (Mickey) Singer. Marty has been leading meditation groups for 15 years. The chapters of this book derive from spontaneous talks he has given in the online meditation group that he currently leads. As such, this book is a unique communication of the spiritual teachings.

Two characteristics of the author make the teachings particularly accessible.

1.     As an “unenlightened disciple,” his life experiences are not so different from the readers’.

2.     As a professional educator, he honed his ability to write while keeping in mind the readers’ perspective. Writing this book is not just about sharing the teachings, it is about helping the reader progress in their own knowing and awareness.
