Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.

He thought he could set her on a better path. But they might both wander astray...

Sir Gareth Ludlow never truly recovered from the death of his fiancee. Years later, a chance encounter with Amanda, a young and devastatingly pretty runaway, inspires him to try to do the right thing and to set her on a path towards a good life.

But Sir Gareth has been neck-deep in a life of debauchery and hedonism ever since his fiancee's death, and Amanda's startlingly lively imagination proves to be more than he'd bargained for. As they both become increasingly entangled in Sir Gareth's scheme, it seems more and more difficult for either of them to lead the life they should...

A witty and delightful historical novel, Sprig Muslin shows why Georgette Heyer has such a huge and devoted readership to this day.

so typical of Heyer with a flowing yet humorous story line. Have read them all and now having them read to me with Audible, I find that this narrator lacks any credibility in her narrative and, if I hadn’t known the story, I would have scrapped the reading completely because my ears were abused. Totally misread to the point of making me grit my teeth at incorrect expression, wrong use of punctuation and so little difference between each character’s voice. Come on Audible- these stories cost money - we deserve better this.

Always a huge fan of Heyer's Regency romances, and this is a good one. Narrator annoyed me by mispronouncing several words (seriously, it's your job, no excuses); and, the most annoying thing, is not saying "Ma-MAH" and "Pa-PAH". This is Regency England, we don't have mommas and poppas.

I like the book, even thought it's not one of my favourites by Heyer. But I absolutely disliked the narrator- there were such awkward pauses and weird intonation.

Terrible narration. Many quite ordinary words are mispronounced. Horrible "character" voices.

Oh dear - sorry to say that the story was spoilt for me by the narration. Rather jerky speech and so annoying that whenever the word “the” was followed by a word beginning with a vowel there was a strange inflection in the narrator’s voice - also some mispronunciation of words. Such a shame when other Penguin audio books of Heyer have been so good.
