Summary
NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER • A hilarious novel of social and political intrigue, set against the glittering backdrop of Florida’s gold coast, from the author of Skinny Dip and Razor Girl

“If you could use some wild escapism right now, Hiaasen is your guy.” —The New York Times

WITH A NEW EPILOGUE

At the height of Palm Beach’s charity ball season, Kiki Pew Fitzsimmons, a prominent member of geriatric high society, suddenly vanishes during a swank gala. Kiki Pew was a founding member of the Potussies, a group of women dedicated to supporting the President, who spends half the year at the “Winter White House” just down the road. Meanwhile, Angie Armstrong, wildlife wrangler extraordinaire, is called to the island to deal with a monster-sized Burmese python that has taken residency in a tree. But the President is focused on the disappearance of Kiki Pew. Never one to miss an opportunity to play to his base, he immediately declares her a victim of rampaging immigrant hordes. This, it turns out, is far from the truth, which now lies in the middle of the road, where a bizarre discovery brings the First Lady’s motorcade to a grinding halt. Irreverent, ingenious, and uproariously entertaining, Squeeze Me perfectly captures the absurdity of our times.

Carl Hiassen never disappoints. "Squeeze Me" is wonderful to listen to and I can, as a former long term Floridian, able to see Palm Beach as it kind of really is. I love the reoccurrence of the governor's driver Jim and the fugitive governor Skink. Highly recommend.

This is a savage, biting satire about the first DJT administration. Hiassen takes no prisoners, though he's surprisingly kind to "Mockingbird" (Melania). But while well written and very funny, it's not his best work. It meanders a bit. There are some unnecessary subplots. The appearance of 'Skink' (aka the Governor) is always welcome, but it's a bit far fetched even for Carl. And given what's happened since the book was published, it's also kind of sad. Still, it's worth a listen

Always loved Hiassens books, this one is politically humorous but like a lot of the so-called later night comedians he might could be alienating 1/2 of his readers.

This will be the last Car Hiaasen book for me. Too political!

Absolutely hilarious! As a German I‘m glad that our head of state doesn‘t give so much way for inspiration. ;)

Always a pleasure.

I love his books. This one was disappointing. The plot was weak. It seemed as if he rushed the book, just to get it out. Hope the next one is better.
