Unabridged Audiobook
I really enjoyed this book. Really give you a mental picture of what Kenobi has to do when he arrived on Tattooine.
good book think it could use a bit more action but other than that it's a good story for the time period for obi wan Kenobi journey in exile
Story took seemingly forever to develop, but ended well.
It's like a western. A mysterious stranger rides into town, known only as "Ben". The widowed storekeeper takes an immediate liking to him. The storekeeper's son has fallen in with a gang of local outlaws led by a suitor to the storekeeper's affections. It's up to the stranger to restore law and order to this rugged desert town while maintaining the secret of his past. There's good, bad, and ugly with a showdown at the end. This is an immediate follow-up to Revenge of the Sith, and even though this is an Expanded Universe/Legends book, it still works really well if you're into the modern Star Wars canon. Highly recommended, especially if you're into stories about drifters who wander into town with nothing but his piece and a sense of justice. Except, in this case, the stranger isn't exactly mysterious to the reader now, is he?
For something that is just a fluff filler book, this story is wonderful read and written. I wish that Disney would canonize this story because it is an interesting introspective look at Obi Wan after the fall of the Republic. With Davis reading, it feels smooth seeing the transition of Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi to the hermit in A New Hope.
amazing book! maybe the Kenobi series will follow this story.
Good storytelling and it's a little slow, I'm hoping it picks up soon. How the show on Disney + is awesome!
This was really a great story and I believe that it also had great characters.
Slow start, the last hours were great and very exciting.
Mildly interesting but I didn't like any of the characters except Kenobi and A'Yark. Many of the other characters I found irritating, and the narrator did a good job of capturing their irritating personalities (which didn't help). This book has a lot of drama in it but I found it to be boring, maybe because I didn't care much for the characters. I think I prefer slower paced stories such as Plagueis, so I will stick with Star Wars books that are more centered on politics. To each their own!
Great book that opens the back story of Old Ben.
I'm halfway through but so far this is one of my favorites out of the Star Wars books. Thank you for giving me a more in depth look at the hermit that is Ben Kenobi.
A very good story for sure. The best account of obi wan out there. This is a great listen and would recommend it to anyone.
It's a nice book, it starts slow but gets good. I recommend this for anyone who likes action, even if you don't like Star Wars.
Gives a bit of insight to the old ben legend and the history of the tuskens. Good book overall.
