Unabridged Audiobook
Lords of the Sith was surprisingly strong book considering it sought to explore the relationship between the Emperor and Vader on a level I've not experienced previously. The focus on a world away from the Core and a small scale uprising threatened to be a dull book, but the characters were strong and each given a strong subplot that was woven together over a series of chapters until it built to a satisfying, and somewhat unexpected, conclusion. For the first time, the listener gets a true understanding of the power of the Dark Side as wielded by the Emperor. This is well worth the time it takes to listen. It starts out a bit slow, but quickly builds both pace and tension until one cannot wait for the final battle. As always, I continue to be in awe of the narration skills of Jonathan Davis. He truly makes it easy to become immersed in the story and I can easily visualize the world and the characters as I listen. I recommend this to all Star Wars fans. You won't be disappointed.
Great listen! I love books about the sith!
Focusing on an assassination attempt on Vader and Palpatine, this story features more of an ensemble cast, everyone scrambling to hunt down Vader and the Emperor as the story ramps up to its conclusion. The cast was fun, pitting established revolutionary Cham Syndulla from The Clone Wars and Vader as central opposing forces while the rest of the cast support or work against Cham’s goal of killing the two Sith Lords. The story is engaging if a bit uneven with a much stronger front half which had probably the most engaging story section so far in the books. Offering the best look so far into Vader’s mind and his relationship to Palpatine, this book also delivers the coolest Sith action so far, even getting Palpatine into it which is extremely rare to see. While there is definitely some work that could be done to tighten the story and characters some more, the book is a good time with a cast you’ll remember and some of the coolest action scenes in both space and with lightsabers so far. A strong start with Vader and Cham sets the story in motion, getting a great and chilling scene featuring our two main opposing forces. The story stays strong through the first half of the book, with engaging action and good characters. The premise of an attempt on Palpatine and Vader is great and the book lives up to it. However it doesn’t keep the moment through to the end, with the story slowing down and becoming too unfocused by the end of its underwhelming climax. Despite this and its uneven character work, Lords of the Sith still comes out on top with a story I will not forget, even if it wound up not being as great as it could have been. The characters are all interesting save for one though they could have been improved if the book managed its subplots better in the back half. Still, this story of a revolutionary sticking it to the Empire is one of the most unique ones that takes you on great ride regardless of its flaws.

This has to be one of my favorite narrators. Good job
Interesting story of two Sith Lords and the layers surrounding them. Good narration and pacing.
Great book! I was entertained from start to finish.
I cannot listen more than 10 minutes!
Great book to listen to.
It was a great listen!!!! I only gave it 3 stars because I’ve got 4 Star Wars books I enjoyed more. Again still a great listen.
Fair at best. I've read or listened to most of the canon Star Wars and several legends titles. This one just didn't capture my attention as many others.
Great book showing relationship between Darth Vader and Sidious
Awesome book for a Star Wars fan! Love the way they show us the relationship between Vader and Sidious.
A very good book, just not great. Not sure why I think that but I didn't become emotionally involved as much as I'd like and was confused by all the characters it would jump through. Voice work could've been better for the Emperor and Vader.
This is the best Star Wars story I've ever heard. I would be crushed if this doesn't become a film.
I loved the back story of characters we know, and how the actions in the movies are guided by what we haven't seen. I highly recommend this book, especially this audio version with the sound effects really helping to build the story.
Such a good book. Got to see a different side to the relationship between Vader and the emperor. Never dull and kept me on edge until the very end!! Would highly recommend to any Star Wars fans.
Can't wait to start the next one. Excellent narration
very good book, kept me on edge the whole time. wish it had more about the emperor and his true powers. but all in all it was an amazing book.
Strong narration. If you enjoy Star Wars and especially the Dark Side characters this is your book. Explores the relationship of Vader and Palpatine and the powers/abilities of the Dark Side. Hope they follow up with more!
