Very 50s, but holds up

I enjoyed the story. The vision of the future is interesting albeit somewhat dated, but that is minimized because the writing about technology is generalized to a great degree. The narrator spoke clearly and added a bit of inflection for each of the characters, but not much. It was mostly a reading, but it was a good reading nonetheless.

Robert Silverberg is one of the greatest story tellers of all time. I've been a very big fan of his for many years. This is why I felt so disappointed in this read. Although the story is excellent as is the norm with all of Silverberg's books, the poor quality, and infantile way of the narrator made this book not nearly as enjoyable as it could have been. Although this book feels as though it may have been aimed at a younger reader, the narrator made it sound as if the was reading for a six-year-old. Perhaps a different narrator could have done it the justice this amazing story truly deserves.
